Protests in Austria continue!
A short summary of what happened in the last days. Last Saturday more than 10 000 people protested against new government. Starting at 5 pm they marched around the city and even through (!) the biggest railway station in Austria. You can hear a lot of drums and see a lot of "resistance" sprayed in the streets of Vienna at the moment. There were no troubles with the police until they wanted to arrest two sprayers. Suddenly from all sides groups of cops stormed into the demo and attacked everyone, who was not fast enough to escape. Later the situation calmed down again and the march went on to end at 3 am in front of the FPOE-Headquarter.
On sunday the (now daily) manifestation was planned to go to the inner city, where normally the Talkshow "Zur Sache" (on this day about the new government and the protests against it) of the Austrian television ORF is being held. But because of the protests the ORF decided to do the show outside of the city. But even the long distance of 6 km could not hold the 7 000 protestants away. Normal police troops staid in the background, but a lot of officers of the "Staatspolizei" (Austrian secret service) where seen. Without any reason they tried to get hold of a videocamera of some people, who document the protests. Later they even "stole" a handbag (including the keys) of one woman, and only handed it out again after a lot of people protested and after a german TV- team started to record them.
On this day a lot of banners against austrian television (ORF lies) where carried, because the ORF reported a lot of bullshit about the protests, on Saturday they were talking about 1 500 protestants.
Yesterday again some 5 000 people marched through the city for some hours, now also the outer districts of Vienna are "visited"
The protests in Austria will go on! Every day at 5pm starts a march. Also there is a big international demonstration planned for Feb. 19th. We hope to see a lot of you there!
